Please find enclosed a letter from John Burns regarding the new Willows Facility which opened on 7th June 2021.
Residents of Ayrshire and Arran who have experienced acute sexual assault (within the past 7 days) and wish to access healthcare and Forensic Medical Examination (FME) services can now choose to receive this in a local setting that has been designed to be trauma-informed and as comfortable as possible.
The facility is now open to Police Referrals and the letter enclosed includes information on the WoS service model, and guidance on how to support individuals who disclose a sexual assault to make informed choices about healthcare and FME services available to them.
