As part of the Suicide Prevention work taking place across Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Ayrshire and Arran are starting to run Time Space Compassion Workshops (Supporting people experiencing suicidal crisis).
Time Space Compassion is an approach which aims to create better outcomes for people in suicidal crisis. It is a set of principles and values that offers the opportunity to have discussions about relationships and culture identifying where we see TSC and what can get in the way.
This approach has been developed as a result of feedback from people with lived experience as well as people working in supporting services.
Time Space Compassion (TSC) can have a positive impact on people experiencing suicidal distress but could also create opportunities for us all to start to recover and heal from the challenges that we have all faced and continue to deal with in recent years. This approach has the potential to positively impact on staff wellbeing by highlighting the importance for us all to make for time, space and compassion for ourselves, so in turn we can do the same for others.
This workshop aims to raise awareness of the Time Space Compassion approach (highlighted in the Creating Hope Together: Scotland’s Suicide Prevention Strategy) and why it matters for people experiencing suicidal crisis.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran are looking for your support, to get involved in these workshops to enable this approach to spread across systems, organisations and communities in Ayrshire.
