As you may know, the Scottish Government is currently considering the possible inclusion of Justice Social Work (JSW) within a future National Care Service (NCS). Both Justice Social Work staff and community justice partners will play a key role in helping inform this supporting the decision.
To provide Justice Social Work staff and community justice partners with an initial opportunity to feed into the decision making process, share their expertise, and experiences, the Scottish Government is organising eight workshops across four days in March. Each day will host separate workshops for Justice Social Work workforce and community justice partners. Full dates and links to book your place are included below.
The workshop will provide you with an opportunity to share your thoughts on the broader challenges and opportunities of Justice Social Work and the options for strengthening services either within or outwith a National Care Service. Importantly, the workshops also provide an opportunity for the Scottish Government to build links with Justice Social Work staff and community justice partners to ensure they play a role in any decision from beginning to end.
At each workshop, attendees will be provided with some background to the National Care Service, provide information on the programme of work to inform a decision on the possible inclusion on Justice Social Work, and share the interim findings on research on current challenges and future opportunities.
While the four workshops are spread geographically they may not be suitable for a number of people who wish to attend. Therefore a virtual session in the near future will be organised, if this would be of interest please let us know via the email below.
