Liberation One Page Resources

Through the Community Reintegration Delivery Group a ‘liberation pack short-life working group’ was established to review liberation materials at HMP Kilmarnock.   This short-life group has now finalised a set of concise, one-page resources containing essential contact information for people being released from prison and returning to Ayrshire.

These resources are intended to ensure that individuals have easy access to key contact details for support services in their local area, as well as space to record any appointments that have been arranged for them following their release.

Listed below are three versions of the resource, one for each Ayrshire local authority area. These will be given to men at their pre-release appointment in HMP Kilmarnock around 8 weeks prior to their release.  If you have physical premises and engage with people following release from prison, feel free to print and have these available. When printing the resources, please ensure that you select “Print on both sides – flip pages on the short edge”. This will allow the document to be folded into booklet format once printed.

Additionally, versions for men and women coming back to each Ayrshire area from other establishments have been produced and will be shared with contacts in those prisons. For men leaving HMPK and returning to an area out with Ayrshire, the Scottish Prison Service SharePoint site contains localised information which will be shared with them for the area they are returning to, and regional financial support is shown on the Independent Food Aid Network website Cash first leaflets – Independent Food Aid Network.
