Sexual Assault Response Coordination Service (SARCS)

(SARCS) is a dedicated NHS service offering healthcare and support following a rape or sexual assault, where the individual does not yet feel ready or is unsure about reporting it to the police.

The service will help the individual with their immediate healthcare needs after an assault and can potentially gather forensic evidence (which will be kept for 26 months) in case they want to report it the police at a later date.

SARCS is a self-referral service, meaning that a GP or other healthcare professional referral is not needed; and anyone over the age of 16 can self-refer. You can find out more on the SARCS page of the NHS Inform website.
