An introduction to working with people with brain injury within prison, forensic mental health and criminal justice settings session is being delivered by Prof. Tom McMillan.

The following areas will be covered:

  • Introduction – why head injury in prisoners is an issue needing consideration
  • Basics about head injury and its effects
  • Theoretical perspective on how traumatic brain injury is likely to increase risk of criminal behaviour
  • What we know about head injury and offending – recent research in prisons in Scotland & short case examples
