Event Details

Overview

Public Health Scotland are working with Matter of Focus to identify how we can measure and evaluate where our suicide prevention activities are making a difference. Matter of Focus are working with partners in Suicide Prevention Scotland to track the impact of the national strategy. We are working with Matter of Focus to do something similar for local areas, with an offer for you and colleagues to learn more about how you can measure the impact of the work that you are doing, and identify the difference you are making. This project aims to improve knowledge and skills of how to monitor and evaluate local suicide prevention activity and action plans.

Workshop 1: Introduction to Evaluation and Context Mapping

Thursday 23 May, 9.30am – 12noon via MS Teams

Local suicide prevention partners are invited to attend an initial workshop which will introduce the concept of measuring impact using contribution analysis and a theory of change approach. We will spend some time exploring the context of your work using the ISM model, to understand the external factors that help and hinder the success of your suicide prevention work. This workshop may be recorded for those attending, and others to watch back.

If you would like to sign up for this workshop, please contact phs.suicidepreventionteam@phs.scot and you will be sent the calendar invitation and MS Teams link.

What if I can’t attend?

If you’re unable to attend, or the timing isn’t right for your local area, then you can still find out more from the local area guidance around monitoring and evaluation which will be updated following this project.   You can also reach out to the Suicide Prevention Implementation Leads at Public Health Scotland who can support discussions around monitoring and evaluation.
