The Department of Social Sciences at UWE Bristol are pleased to announce a one day in-person conference on “Sexual Offending and Restorative Justice” at Frenchay Campus.

Call for poster presentation abstracts – the conference organisers are extending an invitation to early career researchers, post-graduate students, practitioners and established academics to submit poster presentations on research areas related to sexual offending and restorative justice. These can be independent of each other.

Suggestions for themes include, but are not limited to:

  • Victim and offender motivations to engage in restorative justice.
  • What does healing/ recovery/restoration mean for victims?
  • Can engaging with restorative justice improve offenders’ chances at effective desistence?
  • Sexual offenders as past victims of sexual abuse.
  • Suitability of restorative justice for sexual offences.
  • Online sexual offending.
  • Secondary victimisation through sexual offending.

If you are interested in presenting a poster please email: paul2.gavin@uwe.ac.uk with your 250 word (maximum) abstract. The deadline to submit abstracts is 08 July 2022, 17:30.

Attendance is free and refreshments will be provided on the day.
