The National Prison and Police Care Network - Naloxone Administration in Custody

These sessions are open to NHS, Scottish Prison Service, Police Scotland, and wider partner agencies working within prison and police custody environments.

During this session, Mariebeth Kilbride and Suzie Gallagher will deliver an overview and refresher training on the appropriate and effective use of naloxone within custody settings.

The session will focus on current best practice, including the use of naloxone in response to synthetic opioids and the challenges posed by an increasingly unpredictable and evolving drugs market. It is designed to support staff confidence, recognition of opioid toxicity, and timely intervention.
