HIV charity Waverley Care in partnership with NHS Scotland and funded by the Scottish Government have developed a new online learning hub called HIV Informed, designed to help Scotland’s health and social care workforce build knowledge, confidence and understanding around HIV.
Scotland set out to end HIV transmission in Scotland by 2030. While remarkable progress has been made a key barrier to HIV transmission elimination in Scotland is HIV stigma. Common misconceptions and negative attitudes not only harm people living with HIV but also discourage those at risk from accessing prevention, testing and treatment.
Our public, community and third sector organisations have a key role in encouraging the workforce to update their HIV knowledge, support HIV prevention, testing and treatment, and work collectively across services and communities to eliminate HIV stigma. Come along to this introductory session to find out more about tackling HIV stigma and this new resource.
