Event Details

Last year, CSE Aware launched a three-part webinar series exploring consent within the ‘sex industry’. The series introduced the CSE Aware consent framework, highlighting how consent is shaped by women, sex buyers, and third parties. It explored consent as a process—before, during, and after a sexual encounter—and identified key points where consent may be compromised.

In the final webinar in our “Lifting the curtain” series, we will continue to talk about consent in the sex industry. Centreing women’s experiences, we will focus on harms that may arise after a sexual encounter. From the misuse of images and unwanted ongoing contact to negative public reviews by sex buyers, the session will highlight the importance of a longer-term approach to consent, rather than viewing it as something confined to a single sexual encounter.
